Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Texas

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Texas

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized in order to move supplies and products around on wooden pallets using metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that can raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated carefully in order to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment should be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet must be stacked carefully to be able to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

To be able to lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center in order to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.

Pull on the handle and then drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you as the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop suddenly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
