Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet areas, while some would use specific guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common models in tight retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks are able to work in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units like for instance Reach Trucks. They are commonly used within warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is really spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and thus more effective while limiting fatigue.
